BTS: GD by IGE

I went to Olamide's ends to be her sideman as she interviewed Osquello and Ceenoz for a documentary she is making about their collective, Greasy Deep. Before I show pictures from that meeting in the park, I'm gonna give an insight into Olamide's cool craft. She took pictures on her film camera then developed them and put them in a scrapbook, where there's also printed pictures that she took on her phone.

Here's TIANA THA WORDIST, my babygirl Gabriella and Brian The Nasty - another Greasy Deep Member.

Olamide was videoing on a VHS camera and it came out very sick. You can see a snippet of the footage here. She also looks very in control of what she's shooting here, possibly because the picture is straight. I love this picture. The two below are also quite cool I think, particularly the one on the left.

Here's the mandem now. Ceenoz pon di lef an Osquello pon di right. Swagga dons fi tru.

Olamide took pictures of the boys in between filming them. They answered a few questions each, mainly focused on music, and dropped a couple freestyles. We also played cards a bit and had a nice chat.

Here we have Osquello the legend in the making exhibiting a close connection with nature.

The boys are lovely. Follow their social media and support all their little projects as they come out. They are cool kids and if you want to experience this yourself... Greasy Deep are having a ROOFTOP GIG on Saturday 15th August. Roll thru yung bluds: NW4 4UJ.

Oh yeah I edited some of the pictures on a secret app Osquello told me about that's not really a secret cos Olamide uses it too, but hey ho. It's very great lmao.

Politi(call out) Demolition

When I saw this faded sticker of my favourite Angela Davis quote I took my first picture of this day out with Lukas, a super skilled photographer from Belgium. We were doing a photoshoot, me being in front of the camera for once haha. As we walked around looking for locations we came across many blocked off blocks, one of which you can see on the right.

The demolition of all these flats has been called out by who I assume are or were residents of such spaces. Their words are definitely stimulating if you let them be, such as on the small sticker on the right which says INJUSTICE ANYWHERE IS A THREAT TO JUSTICE EVERYWHERE.

I felt like I was in a strange dystopia on this one particular block which was right across from a completely closed off one. I wonder how empty it was though. I really like the picture on the left. There was an old woman leaning out of one of them talking to her friend when we were there.
PUBLIC HOUSING NOT PRIVATE PROFIT.
Capitalism is so careless man.

If I remember correctly then that huge block in the background of these two pics is the aforementioned closed off one. The reason I took these pictures though is because of the Adidas basketball board thing. There was cool graffiti inside the court that I would've loved to take pictures of and with, but there wasn't a safe way to enter lool.

The picture on the left was a complete accident. I fully didn't know I even took it until I was looking back on my pictures lool. Flipping amazing ay.

The architecture and colours here were really appealing here. Lukas and I went up the steps, desperate to find a way into this looming block but we were shut out ffs lmao. We walked cautiously around the corners in case we found any squatters or homeless people, though all we saw was beer cans and a duvet and what was probably shit on the wall, as you can see on the right.

We were just walking around and we found a little park by some estate. I can't resist swings. These dreamy pictures really capture the nostalgia I feel when I'm on them. Yeah.

Fartsy Fings

GALLERIES

I went to the Courtauld Gallery but didn't actually see any exhibitions. I went into the Gallery's shop and bought few few tings, then I stepped out and looked above, astounded by the architecture. It looked so fresh and ancient at the same time, I love it.

On  the left is a sight from the courtyard, and on the right is some magnets I saw in the shop. I love that idea of art on magnets. I wanna make my own.

I went to Brixton after Courtauld and found the cutest little gallery on Atlantic Road. It was exhibiting two artists at the same time, which I thought was such a cool use of space, especially as it was so small as well. I was speaking to the receptionist and she said she liked the balance of the dense sculptures pictured above, and the more minimalistic and calm paintings on show. Those paintings were done by the artist who did the PENCIL DRAWING you can see below.

WOMEN

These are just a variety of pictures I took of artwork featuring women that I find really mesmerising.

Back to Brixton, here's some graffiti which I reallyyy appreciate:

    STREET ART
I was walking from Shoreditch to  Kennington lol and just coming to Elephant and Castle there was a little side street that enticed me in its yellow brightness, and I had time so I just wandered down it. I did not expect to see what I did but I WAS SO IMPRESSED. The vibes of it were so beautiful.

Look at that beaautiful dot under the eye. I have no idea what it is or where it came from. It's so perfectly aligned it's mystical.
